    Job Description

    In this role, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering projects to clients or internal project teams. We are looking for individuals with the following skills:

    • Understanding client requirements and aspirations to identify and agree scopes of work.
    • Delivering high-quality work to agreed timescales and budgets.
    • Having good knowledge of at least two of the following rolling stock areas: Bogies and suspension, Wheelsets, Bearings and transmissions, Braking systems and performance, Door systems, Couplers and gangways, Corrosion repairs and fabrication, Engines, Train maintenance and fleet management.

    Example Work Activities:

    The role does not require prior experience in these areas; they are provided as examples of what you could be doing with us:

    • The introduction of new rolling stock through design scrutiny in support of the Certification Body.
    • Cost reduction through component condition assessment and maintenance optimization.
    • Investigation of in-service issues/problem solving.
    • Devising practical repair solutions.
    • Improving system reliability through the review of fault data and recommendation for modifications.
    • Undertaking Project Manager roles for projects managed by the Mechanical Systems team.
    • Identifying technical, commercial, and safety risks associated with projects and ensuring these are managed through each project phase.
