This role is based in our London office. Christian Aid is currently trialing a hybrid working model and you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days per week.

The salary quoted is for the London office but if based at home, the salary will be £38,238.

About the role


The Website Product Owner has ownership and responsibility for delivering user-centered products and website developments that provide an inspiring online experience for Christian Aid's current supporters and attract new target audiences.


The Product Owner works directly with colleagues, suppliers and client teams to influence the choice of technology platform, user experience, and implementation routes; they carry operational and strategic oversight of digital initiatives, and ensures that projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the agreed specification.


Key outcomes

  • Launch new products and enhance existing products in line with delivery expectations
  • Work with Digital Lead to develop the roadmap for the content backbone of our digital presence
  • Act as Scrum master for the delivery of the projects and sprints on the roadmap
  • Deliver ROI for investments in products where appropriate
  • Deliver on identified KPI's and targets for products
  • Able to understand and communicate across digital roadmaps/backlogs to inform stakeholders of what is feasible and ongoing plans
  • External digital footprint is delivered with a capability of improvement and development to take advantage of future changes in digital technology and platforms.

About you


You have a natural ability to engage with and convince stakeholders (internal and external) along with a keen sense of what makes digital projects work.

You don't need to be a technology expert but you do have a desire to understand the link between digital development and keeping internal customers happy.

You are a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and excellent problem solving and issue-resolution skills.

You exhibit a strong desire to learn and share knowledge with colleagues and are willing to adapt your approach to different team members.

You are able to motivate others outside your immediate workgroup and have an infectious enthusiasm for new digital innovation.


You will be expected to maintain an up to date understanding of Christian Aid business priorities, digital and project management trends.
