Oil Operator
Salary - £55,000 - £68,000
Location - London
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and management of the movement of refined products, with multiple origins and destinations, via multigrade coastal vessels and pipelines.
- Ensure fulfilment of Company obligations to its suppliers and customers; protecting Company interests within the role's area of responsibility.
- Entering cargo nomination data into trading/accounting systems. Liaising with Finance, Tax, and Terminals as and when required.
- Constantly working to optimise voyages, berthing schedules, whilst minimising unplanned costs including dead freight and demurrage.
- Working closely with traders once deals are concluded and with Vetting to clear vessels. Appointing inspectors for quality and quantity. Liaising with credit department if letters of credit are required.
- Conducting analysis of logistics for efficiencies or commercial opportunities to maintain maximum asset utilisation.
- Using developed network to gather relevant information needed to identify new strategic relationships and business opportunities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Degree educated preferred.
- Industry or marine transportation experience preferred but not essential.
- Some industry knowledge and understanding of industry standards and their commercial impact, as well as market trends/drivers, competitor markets, terminals, logistics and refinery operations in area of responsibility.
- Excellent IT skills with the ability for cost analysis, mental calculation, and presentation skills.
- Selfstarter with high degree of urgency, integrity and reliability. Actionoriented attitude with high levels of inquisitiveness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative and able to work well with multiple groups including other business units and higher levels of management. A team worker, who aims to build commonality and encourage new and innovative team solutions.
- Stress tolerant and able to respond constructively to challenges, and to work effectively in highstress situations.
- Attentive to detail and capable of finishing tasks thorough to completion. Ability to discern discrepancies in data and reports.
- Able to decipher complex data and extract the most important and relevant facts, enabling appropriate decisionmaking. Capable of creating well thought out workable solutions.
- Required to handle multiple, complex and challenging operational issues. Able to multitask, is highly organised, can facilitate analysis and the resolution of multiple problems with critical timelines and with multiple teams.
