Responsible Home Carers ("RHC") is currently recruiting for live-in child carer and nanny roles in the South West London area.

RHC specialises in live-in childcare and nanny services, and we are currently recruiting for experienced nannies


Job role


Your duties will depend on the needs of the client family, but they typically include child development through structured play and assisting with homework, maintaining a safe and clean environment for the children, including cleaning toys, rooms and equipment used by children, managing children's behaviour and supporting their emotional needs, preparing meals, and assisting with practical parental support such as school runs, and shopping.

The key duties and responsibilities of a Nanny include:


  • Organising and participating in creative educational activities at home such as games, drawing and crafting, which support childrens' intellectual, physical, social, emotional and language development
  • Preparing healthy and nutritious meals, assisting with feeding, including bottlefeeding babies
  • Helping elder children clean themselves up, whilst encouraging independence, changing baby nappies and bathing them
  • Scheduling naps and teaching children good behaviour, such as respect and helping with chores
  • Transporting children to and from schools and extracurricular activities
  • Tidying up play areas and rooms after children and ensuring their safety indoors and outdoors
  • Assisting the children with homework and working with parents to ensure their growth and social development
  • Ensuring the safe keeping of the children, protecting them from physical or emotional harm
  • At all times respecting the wishes of children's parents about daily routines, diet and religion

Additional core responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring equipment is well maintained, age appropriate and safe to use
  • Ensuring good hygiene standards are met
  • Following all safety procedures (including child safeguarding)
  • Acting in an inclusive way, and with equal treatment regardless of gender, race, religion, beliefs, language, disability or other protected characteristics
  • Keeping good records
  • Meeting policies and procedures in line with Ofsted and PACEY guidance
  • Staying up to date with current industry best practice

Key skills and experience

  • Minimum of five years relevant experience
  • Two or more acceptable references

Required certificates and training
Youmust have the following

  • Enhanced DBS Criminal Record Check
  • Completed First Aid Training
  • Training in accordance with the UK Department of Education's Common Core of Skills and Knowledge
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, with two supporting written references
  • English language (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) to a minimum CEFR (B1)
  • Completed Ofsted Health declaration form
  • Registration with Ofsted (Early Years or Childcare as applicable, 30 day grace period applies)

Training and development
RHC will provide the following ongoing training and development

  • Support towards a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme e.g. CACHE
  • Ongoing CPD training in accordance with PACE best practice

Hours:
Fixed daytime hours, set according to the customer's needs, up to a maximum of 46 hours per week


Salary:
from GBP25,600


Leave:
RHC provides statutory holiday allowances and other leave according to UK government employment law
