The Team:


Our sector-based research teams operate with a goal to be our clients' first call for investment ideas, longer-term thematic pieces and industry expertise.

This role sits within the Latin American Research Team, which comprises 4 Senior Analysts and will include a similar number of Associates.

The team is highly experienced, and having recently joined Jefferies from another firm, will be building coverage of over 100 stocks in the coming months.


The Role:

We are keen to hire an Associate to join the team in London or Madrid.

You will be working closely with the Senior Analyst with responsibility for the Telecom and Consumer sectors in the region, supporting coverage of over 20 stocks.

The role will involve a great deal of contact with the Senior Analysts and other Associates on the team, and exposure to management teams from the companies we report on.

It will be a varied role, involving a broad range of responsibilities:


  • Support the Senior Analyst in expanding and maintaining stock coverage
  • Develop and maintain multiple excelbased financial models and databases
  • Contribute to reports, presentations and regular commentary on stocks and sectors under coverage
  • Respond to queries and assist the team in meeting client marketing and corporate access requirements
  • Employ your initiative to source data, identify trends and monitor market developments, while continually improving your knowledge of the Consumer and Telecom sectors

Qualifications:


  • 12 years' experience in Equity Research or Consulting, Finance or IR experience in the Consumer sector
  • A highpotential graduate with strong interest and commitment to Equity Research would be considered
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred, with at least a good working knowledge of both languages
  • Degree/Master's qualified with a record of academic achievement
  • Highly numerate, analytical and organised, and proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
