Description

The Department of Education is looking to appoint a Research Assistant with responsibility for carrying out research for a discrete area of a large project, including supporting the completion of three core studies, carrying out statistical analyses, preparing data for archiving and collaborating on the drafting of reports for academic audiences.

Reporting to Prof Sonali Nag, the post holder will be a member of the TalkTogether research project, which examines oral language development under the particular complexities of multilingual urban poor settings.


The post holder will be responsible for managing their own research and administrative activities, and contribute to project management, including file management, planning and scheduling internal audits of research processes.

They will carry out advanced statistical analyses and lead on the presentation of findings, organise data input and cleaning for data repositories, and set up a legacy database.

They will also liaise with research associates and affiliates, prepare simple summaries for team meetings, and contribute to the development of the research programme and impact plan.

This post is fixed-term until 31 December 2023 and is offered on a part-time basis.
