An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the vascular team in the University Hospital of Wales.

Following formal approval of the South East Wales Vascular Network we are seeking an experience and motivated Programme Coordinator to oversee Administrators and Secretaries (who may be based in multiple hospital sites and in multiple sister specialities within Cardiff and Vale).

To be a single point of contact for the network across multiple professional groups and other hospital sites.


Good communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential and the role also requires the ability to work both independently and with others to inspire trust and confidence.

Excellent knowledge of working in the NHS environment and IT systems is essential.

The Vascular Coordinator is responsible for the delivery Vascular Services across South Wales.

The post holder will work closely with the Network Vascular Manager, Service Leads, Service Managers and Lead Clinicians to provide comprehensive data management to support national audit and support the service development of the Vascular Network.


The post holder will have considerable freedom to act in respect of managing the programme locally, and will work independently and lead on a number of initiatives supporting the programme, including support to clinical research and promoting the benefits of the network.

On all clinical matters the Co-ordinator will be supported by the Network Clinical Lead and local Vascular Surgeons.

The Network Co-ordinator will liaise with Vascular Interventional Radiologist, Radiographers and Vascular Scientists to organise vascular imaging and day case angioplasty.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
