An exciting opportunity awaits an enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for Manual Handling to become the Trust's Manual Handling & Ergonomics Advisor.

This is a sole role however, you will be part of the wider multi-professional OH & Wellbeing team which includes: Specialist Nurses, OH Physician, physiotherapist and a counsellor/therapist whilst working closely with key stakeholders including H&S and risk management to make a real difference to the quality, safety and experience of patients and staff across the trust.


In this role, you will be actively involved in maintaining and enhancing safe systems and processes, building upon the groundwork laid by our previous advisor.

You will be responsible for providing training, practical guidance, and developing systems and processes to reduce the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries and incidents.

Also, you will support ward-staff with bespoke risk assessments for patients and support our staff with ergonomic risk assessments.

You will take the lead on matters related to musculoskeletal safety, ensuring compliance with statutory duties, including regulations such as Manual Handling Operations Regulations, LOLER, PUWER, and Display Screen Equipment Regulations and execute day-to-day operational activities related to musculoskeletal/ergonomic safety, encompassing training, incident investigation, RIDDOR, risk assessments, advice, data collection and reporting, and promotion of best practices.
