We have a fantastic opportunity for an
experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in
Basingstoke on a permanent basis.
The role
As
Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for all processes related to maintaining, developing, and decommissioning Sovereign's IT Systems, Enterprise Applications and Cloud Services, working in DevOps environment
Key responsibilitiesinclude:
- Configuring, deploying, and managing cloud services
- Contributing to the successful delivery of Sovereign's Strategic System replacement program and participating in new system design activity
- Managing system health and ensuring systems meet RTO and RPO objectives, completing regular DR testing
- Ensuring Quality Assurance is performed across production and nonproduction environments
- Monitoring and testing system performance to identify possible optimisation solutions, and work with Product team members to implement these
- Configuring and installing system changes and updates, to improve the functionality of systems, user experience and accessibility
Your experience
You should have proven experience in a similar role as Systems Engineer with an understanding of the full product lifecycle
You'll also have:
- Experience of scaling Agile and establishing DevOps methodologies
- Proven experience in relationship building, influencing and communication
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting onpremises and cloud systems
- Public Cloud experience, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Experience with system virtualisation and containerisation
- Proven experience of system administration and performance tuning
- Good working knowledge of Server OS and Network Operations processes
- Expertise in identifying, managing, and monitoring the impacts of digital change
- Ability to negotiate the balance of customer centricity and commercial viability of a product
- ITIL V4 or equivalent professional qualification
