Do you have a proven track record of leading highway and transport improvements? If so, you could be the right person to help Canterbury City Council deliver key aspects of our ambitious and exciting Levelling Up programme.

We have secured £22 million pounds for a variety of public realm and cultural improvements in Canterbury.

The improvements will provide visible and measurable improvements to the local area for residents, businesses as well as visitors, not only restoring pride of place but also significantly enhancing the local offer.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified professional to be the delivery lead for the transport elements of the programme.


The role will be varied; you will need to coordinate and manage a number of projects simultaneously using your technical knowledge to ensure compliance with standards and all necessary approval processes.


You will engage with consultants, contractors and the wider client design team to meet the key outputs and keep projects within agreed cost frameworks.


You will need to be an excellent communicator to ensure stakeholders and local community groups are informed and consulted with as appropriate.


The role will be within the friendly and highly-supportive Transport and Environment team where you will report to the Head of Transport & Environment and may be required to help in the delivery of other transport related projects and provide specialist policy advice.

This is a fixed term post ending on completion of the Levelling Up Fund project in April 2025.
