We are currently recruiting for aSpecimen Reception Team Leader

to join our established team and support our expanding service.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to support our registered Biomedical Scientists in our Blood Sciences Laboratory.

The laboratory work encompasses Haematology, Biochemistry, Point of care testing, rapid COVID-19 testing and Blood Transfusion.

  • To supervise the work of Medical Laboratory Assistants and other less experienced Biomedical staff in the section.
  • To undertake the training of MLA and Biomedical Science staff within the section. and undertake the reception and processing of all clinical specimens prior to testing.
  • To act as frontline staff for visitors and enquiries, forwarding them onto the correct person.
  • To assist the out of hours duty biomedical scientists in the provision of the evenings and/or weekend service.
  • To carry out initial HR procedures in line with trust policy.
