About the Role


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new PD Cluster Officer to join our People Directorate team based in the Manchester region.

Through the Organisational Framework Project, we will be seeking to revolutionise the way that we lead, develop, and listen to our staff to enable the very best opportunities for all.

In this role, you will play a significant part in this, supporting our Business Partner, Cluster PD Manager and various other team members with the management of HR activity.

Key responsibilities

  • To provide PD administration and support across the entire employee lifecycle for the academies based in the Manchester region. This will include dealing with queries relating to new starter/onboarding processes, production and completion of electronic & hard copy personnel files, SCR checks, contract variations, flexible working requests, family friendly leave and leavers.
  • To support with onboarding of leadership (Deputy Principal and above) within Regions' Academies
  • To support with monthly changes to payroll/transactional activities
  • To support the Business partners and/or Cluster Managers with the administration aspects of ER case work
  • To provide cover for the advice line for at least one day/week.


To be successful in this position you will have CIPD Level 3 or equivalent and have experience of the administration of transactional HR activities as well as providing advice to line managers.

You will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with sensitive issues.

Experience in the education sector and knowledge of School Teachers Pay and Conditions would be desirable but is not essential.

We don't expect you to do this alone.

You will have the support of the wider HR team who meet regularly to discuss ideas and share best practice.
