As an apprentice with Baldan Ltd, you will receive comprehensive training in all aspects of freight forwarding, with a particular emphasis on sea freight.

You will develop a sound understanding of import and export regulations, customs procedures, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Baldan Ltd is a renowned liner agent and freight forwarder that has been serving customers since 1980. We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our operations team as an apprentice.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work with weekly container, flat rack and RoRo exports to Africa, Middle East and the Mediterranean.

As an apprentice at Baldan Ltd, you'll be part of our operations team and gain a comprehensive understanding of our day-to-day operations.


You can expect to:

  • Participate in negotiations between Baldan and carriers and clients
  • Handle shipments from negotiations to arrival at port of discharge
  • Create customs entry and bill of lading instructions
  • Gain handson experience with our systems and software
Our experienced professionals will provide guidance and support throughout your apprenticeship.


You'll gain a solid understanding of import and export procedures, customs clearance, and documentation, setting you up to be a valuable member of Baldan Ltd.

Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent Maths & English (Grade Grade A*-C/ 4-9) essential
A Level or equivalent Any (Grade Pass) desirable

Additional Information:


Annual wage
£14,000 to £16,000 dependent on level of experience & qualifications


Working week
Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm
Total hours per week: 40 hours a week


Expected duration
18 Months


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The qualification you will receive from this apprenticeship is International freight forwarding specialist level 3 (Ocean Freight Pathway)

  • Functional Skills if required
  • Onthejob training delivered by the employer

Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out:

  • Regular training
  • Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
  • Identify, track and support 20% off the job training activities
  • Quarterly formal progress review meetings; identifying learning achievements and next steps

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?


The successful apprentice could be employed full time by Baldan Ltd and become a valuable member of the team for many years to come.
