Town and Country Care are looking for a Cook to work at Shetland House, our 9 bed care home situated at St Hilda's Business Centre on the Ropery, Whitby.

We are looking for someone who can cook and bake how Granny did From traditional home-cooked meals to a top notch Victoria Sponge

The role is to prepare fresh lunch-time meals for the residents Monday to Friday, whilst also preparing food, including baking, that can be eaten throughout the day and used over the weekend.

The hours of work would be a minimum of 25 hours, 9am until 2pm, Monday to Friday. Weekend work is also available if desired.

Some kitchen experience is required alongside an up-to-date level 3 food hygiene qualification, although training can be provided.

Duties to also include monitoring food stock and assisting with ordering weekly food deliveries.

You will pick out the weekly menus alongside our residents, exploring different options and revisiting some classic meals from years gone by.

This is a very relaxed role, ideally suited to someone looking to work sociable hours and work alongside a close-knit team at the care home.

You will get chance to talk and socialise with the residents and staff on duty, so a friendly nature and a good sense of humour is required

Rates starting at £10.80 per hour
28 days paid holiday per year
