The David Ross Education Trust seeks a Head of Finance to be accountable for the effective management, reporting and control of the Trust's finances and financial operations.


Of key importance is ensuring a high level of service and positive relationships with staff in our academies, with efficient and effective access to the full finance function for our colleagues across the Trust.

The Trust is a network of academies with a geographical focus on Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire/Humberside and London.

_ About the role_


Provide effective leadership and management of the Trust's finance function (team of 20) and all finance-related processes to optimise the Trust's financial performance, financial operations and ensure an environment of strong financial control.


Lead the Trust's financial budgeting and forecasting processes including provision of appropriate financial insight and analysis to enable resource prioritisation and expenditure decisions to be made.

Lead all accounting transactional operations and deliver all required finance-related regulatory and statutory reporting.

Manage the relationship with external auditors, HMRC, pension providers and key suppliers.

Ability to deputise for the CFO as required including at Trust Board meetings and Trust Board Committee meetings.

_ About you_


You need to be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA) with a good working knowledge of accounting software systems; together with specialist knowledge and skills and successful senior financial leadership experience.


As an excellent communicator - both oral and written - you will possess excellent interpersonal and proven report writing skills.

You will need experience of liaising with auditors, HMRC, pension providers and key suppliers.

_ Salary & Benefits_
- £70,000-£75,000 per annum - depending on expertise and relevant experience
