  • This is an exciting role leading our Community Safety Team based in Burnley. As the Community Safety Coordinator, you will be managing a team of Community Safety Officers to deliver a high quality, efficient and customer focussed Community Safety service focussed on Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), hate crime and domestic abuse.
    What you will be doing
  • The role will require you to continue to develop the team with the aim of reducing ASB, hate crime and domestic abuse in our neighbourhoods. Your team will deal with ASB, hate crime and domestic abuse reports, ensuring positive outcomes for our customers and communities.
  • You will play an integral role in working alongside the management team and partners to make our customers and residents feel safe and ensuring our neighbourhoods are safe, successful and secure places to live, work or visit.

What you will need to be a success

  • You will have or be willing to develop strong people management skills.
  • You will be able to work in a fastpaced environment and be confident in all aspects of ASB including complex case management, preparation of legal paperwork and court attendance.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to manage a complex workload while meeting tight deadlines.
  • You will have good negotiation, influencing and organisational skills.
  • Stakeholder and partnership development is also key to this role and an ability to engage with a diverse customer base is essential.
  • You will support the Neighbourhood and Communities Manager to give assurance around ASB, hate crime and domestic abuse case performance, drive positive change as well as working alongside the wider management team to ensure services for our customers are joined up and deliver satisfaction.
  • You will hold BTEC Level
  • Award in Community Safety Management for Managers or be prepared to complete this qualification during the first year in the role.
