Safran Helicopter Engines are the world's leading manufacturer of rotorcraft turbines and the only one dedicated exclusively to this market.

Our UK facility is the European Maintenance Centre Hub for the SHE Group, performing level 1 to level 3 maintenance and repairs on complex helicopter engine components.

Our experienced teams partner with our broad, global customer base, providing both technical expertise and broader support in both the fixed wing and rotary wing markets.

What will I be doing?

The material planners manage inventories and ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules and sales forecasts.


The material planner's responsibilities include, creating and maintaining purchase orders, inventory schedules, coordinating with internal departments, and managing external stakeholder relations.


The role is to provide support and cover to the 3 specialist areas within MRO; European Maintenance Centre Hub (EMCH), Accessories Repair and Front Office sales, and to support the procurement team in having responsibility of managing a small number of direct suppliers.


You will be expected to:

  • Work in accordance with HSE legislation, Company Operating Systems, policies and procedures
  • Determine the required materials and generating purchase orders.
  • Control inventory levels meeting customer satisfaction and budget targets
  • Ensure materials meet specifications & quality standards
  • Ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.
  • Track production volume and monitor customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.
  • Schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and distributors.
  • Manage schedule changes and cancellations.
  • Prepare performance reports
  • Manage the flow of returning parts back to repair centres
  • Create and maintain material master data and purchase information records ensuring accuracy of data.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, SQCDPI.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and take responsibility for implementation
  • Support as required planning of materials across any of the 3 areas during periods of team absence
  • Any other task which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of Safran HE UK and is within the remit of this post
  • Ensure any subcontract activity is timely and within the needs of the business

Job requirements:

What do you need from me?

  • SAP knowledge ( MUST)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • IT (Microsoft office), use of computer and software
  • English and Maths GCSE's grade A-C
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • Eager to learn
