My client in
Basingstokeis looking for an experienced
Band 6 Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.

Job Role:

A registered Biomedical Scientist delivering Blood Sciences services which contributes to the diagnosis, clinical biochemistry treatment and clinical care of the patient.
Analysis of blood, body fluids to determine the presence or absence of abnormal pathology; to enable diagnosis and subsequent monitoring of the effectiveness of treatment given.
The post holder will be highly skilled in the use of the latest biomedical techniques and complex instrumentation alongside more traditional manual methods of investigation.
The individual will be committed to formally maintaining their specialist skills and knowledge by appropriate training and selfeducation.
The individual is responsible for the delegated tasks involved in the delivery of a clinical pathology service that enables the highest standards of patient care.
In addition the biomedical scientist will, under the guidance of senior biomedical scientists, supervise, train and mentor biomedical support workers, trainee and newly appointed Biomedical Scientists.
The post holder will be competent to work independently in all areas of the laboratory and be able to work as an autonomous practitioner participating in the out of hours /shift rota enabling a full 24 hour pathology service to be provided to the Trust.

Qualifications and Experience required:

HCPC registered as a BMS:

Knowledge of general Biochemistry, acquired by lab experience and IBMS registration portfolio.
Working in a diagnostic laboratory at Specialist BMS level.
Good overall knowledge of analytical procedures
Computer literate
IBMS specialist portfolio in Biochemistry
