About the Employer


I am a man in his 30s with an acquired brain injury that causes left sided weakness, I am a wheelchair user but I can walk a little with a stick, I am also partially sighted.

I Need assistance for most physical tasks such as getting in and out of bed and the shower, with cutting and cooking meals, and getting into the car.

I Likessocializing, bowling, karaoke, live music, comedians, watching films and listening to music. I have a ood sense of humour, and love to tell jokes.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
  • Support with food shopping.
  • Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
  • Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
  • Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.
  • Other Duties include: The position is open to job shares between two or more PAs, so if you are interested but are unable to work the full 41 hours, please still apply. I also need support with maintaining car, eg tire pressure, oil, water etc.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.


Transport Requirement


Full driving license is essential as the role requires you to drive the employer's vehicle (employer to check age requirement with car insurance provider).

  • Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.

  • Have a lively personality.

Required Training
Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer.

First Aid. Training will be provided by the employer.

Other training required includes:
health and safety, safeguarding, food hygiene, fire safety


Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 41 per week


Salary:
From £10.60 per hour
