Graduate Procurement Officer (Fixed Term Contract)**

We have a rare opportunity for a Graduate Procurement Officer that could be you


Based at Dinorwig Power Station, in the heart of Snowdonia, North Wales, we are looking for the right person to join our procurement team to support the operations of the business during the ongoing major plant refurbishment of Ffestiniog and Dinorwig Pumped Storage Hydro Power Stations.


As part of a small but highly dynamic and well-respected Procurement Team, you'll work closely with our engineering, production, and other business departments to ensure the Electric Mountain is always ready.

You'll be involved in several different projects across both power station sites, no two days are ever the same


We invest in our staff, we will grow your skills and knowledge both in depth and in breadth, to enable you to tackle a wide variety of procurement challenges and play a key role in 'keeping the lights on'.

You are not required to have worked in procurement previously, as we can help you harness your relevant degree from legal, finance, business management etc.

We consider this role to be an excellent platform towards achieving CIPS status.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:


  • Ensure that goods, works, and services are procured in accordance with the ENGIE Ethics Guidelines and FHC Procurement, Contracts & Stores policy.
Delivery of both new and renewed contracts which includes:


  • Working with representatives from the internal Engineering team and Procurement Team leader to determine Procurement Strategy
  • Prepare and issue Invitation to Tender
  • Tender Evaluation, clarification, and negotiation with the potential suppliers
  • Contract Award ensuring the delegated levels of authority are followed.
  • Ordering consumables and plant spares via a predefined process
  • Support the Procurement Team Leader with automating and streamlining the current processes for stock replenishment.
  • Manage relationships with Strategic and Preferred suppliers: Including but not limited to site visits, financial checks, ethical checks on EcoVardis, reviewing the Internal reports, reviewing supplier performance on current contracts.
This role will be on a fixed term contract basis of up to 12 months. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. Expected start date is circa 3rd of April 2023.


Security Clearance
First Hydro Company operate key infrastructure projects in the UK and may require successful applicant to undertake national security vetting
