MDE are currently seeking an experienced Category Buyer to join an established and highly successful manufacturing business.

As a Category Buyer you will be required to to manage an EMEA-wide components portfolio.

This is an exciting time to be joining the global procurement team, who are about to embark on a major global procurement transformation to become an industry recognised leader in procurement and supply chain.

Key features of the role include:
Preparing and managing commodity plans to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities, working capital benefits and supply chain improvements which improve product availability for our customers;
Carrying out market research and vendor identification, appraising potential vendors to ensure suitability from commercial, quality and performance perspectives;
Managing supplier relationships within a structured supplier development and performance management framework;
Collaborating with multiple stakeholders across the company including product management, quality and commercial teams, whilst working closely with global Procurement colleagues; and

Managing change, particularly around process improvement and supporting global product changes across multiple sites.

Vacancy Requirements:

You should have the following skills, experience and/or qualifications:

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Relevant experience within procurement
Accomplished negotiator with experience of resolving complex issues combining technical, quality & commercial factors

Salary:
£24,504.37-£40,000.00 per year

Benefits:
