Adult Skills Tutor

Reports to:
Centre Manager

Main Purpose of the Role

The role will be supporting individuals who are out of work to gain accredited personal, employability and/or vocational skills helping them to move into sustainable employment that makes a real difference to their lives.

Main Duties & Accountabilities

Undertake an initial assessment with learners to agree a SMART individual learning plan that meets their needs and progresses them to their goals.
Design and deliver inspiring, motivating, and engaging sessions that provide differentiation and meets the needs of all learners.
Plan delivery and assessment within a thorough scheme of work and ensure all assessment paperwork and records are completed accurately to awarding body and our own internal standards.
Identifying any risks surrounding learner completion/retention/success rates and putting together additional support and IAG to overcome barriers for learners.
Actively support, mentor, and motivate learners through their journey to ensure progression and timely completion of their qualifications.
Provide insightful, constructive, and informative feedback to support the learner to maximise their full potential.
Achieve good learning outcomes to a minimum Ofsted Grade 2 quality standard and a minimum 80% overall success rate.

Skills and Experience

Relevant and up to date teaching / assessing qualifications e.g., CTLLs / DTLLs / CERT ED / PGCE/ E&T
Previous experience of delivering in a classroom environment.
Experience of delivering funded adult skills programmes an advantage.
Ability to delivery highly engaging sessions.
Excellent presentation skills.
Ability to work independently.
Passionate about the Learner Journey.
Good time management skills.
