Service Charge - Client Accountant (Property Sector) / Contract Role / Manchester City Centre / Salary £35,000 - £45,000 + Benefits / Excellent Opportunity / Potential Contract to Permanent Opportunity


NC Associates are working on an exclusive basis with a long established and forward thinking property business which are looking to recruit a Service Charge Accountant on a contract basis to work closely with the property surveyors and senior management team.

As a Service Charge Accountant you will be essential in delivering robust financial information alongside the rest of the finance team


Responsibilities to include:


  • Manage and maintain the Service Charge funds of each property under remit.
  • Ensure that cashflow/funding for each property service charge is adequate.
  • Liaise with Property Managers to ensure completion of Service Charge reconciliations within RICS rules
  • Posting Receipts into client accounts
  • Posting Invoices onto client ledgers
  • Arrears Chasing
  • Client Accounts preparation
  • Assisting in the reviewing of service charges and adjustments if needed
  • Processing adjustments and reconciling to the system
  • Preparation of financial statements and management accounts
  • Financial support to the Property Managers
  • Creating Office Invoices on System
  • Posting Supplier Invoices on System
  • Processing Quarterly Vat returns

Experience Required

  • Previous experience of working within the property sector
  • Previous experience within service charge accounting
  • The ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt quickly to change
  • Must be highly efficient and organised
  • Must have a cando attitude
  • Proficient user of Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Must be able to organise their own workload and prioritise effectively
  • Must have excellent communication skills and good telephone manner
