We are currently have a new opportunity for a Construction Manager to join our Team in Reading.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and manage the delivery team to ensure all works are undertaken in line with programme requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery team in order to ensure all works are undertaken within compliance and in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Taking full ownership of projects from receipt to completion including supporting estimators and design if applicable. Managing to client's timeline and ensuring the compliant, safe and sustainable delivery projects within the portfolio.
  • Producing and/or contributing to project folders
  • Ensuring the completion of all requested project data as set out under each Call off Contract _(P6 programme, CDM requirements construction phase plans, risk registers etc) _and as per IMS standards.
  • Management of resource accountable for ensuring competent and capable resource is in place.
  • Development and implementation of performance targets for resource to ensure compliance with safety, quality, programme and target margin achieved.
  • Contacting and updating client throughout job progression.
  • Management of supply chain with commercial department.
  • Working with commercial to ensure timely, robust and accurate management of change.
  • Accurately updating all work management systems and trackers, progressing jobs through each stage of construction.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload, taking into account your own objectives and those of the wider team
  • Create, maintain, and enhance working relationships with key contacts across the projects and framework
  • Successfully communicating progress and amendments to customer, client and operation team
  • Correct and timely advice given to managers and colleagues.
  • Risk principles considered in all work undertaken.
  • Work completed within specified timescales or negotiated where necessary.
  • Effective relationships built and feedback received.
  • Regular review of performance objectives

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required

  • Experience within the electrical distribution sector and an understanding of installation construction requirements
  • Experience dealing with medium size + construction sites, including experience managing schemes falling under CDM regulations.
  • Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Understanding of the new roads and street works act.

Qualification

  • IOSH Managing Safety
  • Project Management _(Prince2 or similar)_
  • Current, or expired, DNO authorisation
  • SSE or other.

Knowledge

  • NRSWA Supervisor accreditation
  • Knowledge of the electrical distribution industry, either through direct DNO of contractor employment

Skills

  • Has worked operationally within the electrical distribution industry
  • Substations
  • Wind farms
  • Battery Farms.
