Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Aura Education have an exciting opportunity for a pro active and energetic Teaching Assistant (TA) with social emotional and mental health (SEMH) experience to join their support staff team in a SEND school in the L25 area of Liverpool.

This new role will provide you with the right support and guidance from the teaching staff, undertaking support programmes that enable access to learning for all pupils.

This school is a secondary SEND provision so experience with children of any age will be considered. SEND experience is preferred but experience supporting children in some context is essential.

The students all work to a bespoke curriculum so flexibility and creativity are encouraged at all times for the pupils to grow and develop at their own pace.

This full-time, long-term role will run until the end of the academic year (July 2024) and possibly becoming permanent for the right individual.

Starting at 8.30am and finishing at 3.30pm, and there is a competitive weekly rate on offer of £380-£450 per week depending on experience.

Roles and responsibilities.

As a Teaching Assistant (SEMH) you will have:

Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, including those with special educational needs especially pupils with social and emotional issues.
A good understanding of the national curriculum at secondary level
Good understanding of child development and learning
The ability to demonstrate active listening skills and strong verbal communication skills.
A dedication to build positive relationships with pupils.

You will need suitable reference checks and a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to get one in process before the start date.
