About the Role:
As part of Suffolk Primary Care, which is a group of 8 GP practices across Suffolk, we are seeking to recruit 2 enthusiastic and flexible care navigators, with strong customer service skills, for The Derby Road Practice in Ipswich.
Derby Road have 2 sites, based in the heart of Ipswich, with close travel links to the beautiful Suffolk countryside and the Suffolk coast.
The main duties include:
- provide comprehensive administrative support for the general practice and to act as focal point for patients and staff.
- receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
- offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors either in person or via the telephone.
- facilitate effective communication between patients and members of the healthcare community.
- handle patient complaints in accordance with practice protocols.
- provide an efficient and accurate support to the secretarial team, clinicians & patients.

You will have the following:
- Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner;
- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times;
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations;
- Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet";
- Strong IT and administration skills;
- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
