The Opportunity;

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and forward thinking public sector organisation as a Senior HR Business Partner.

Reporting into the Head of HR, the Senior HR Business Partner will work in partnership with the business leaders, providing strategic and operational advice and knowledge on people related matters in line with the needs and priorities of the business directorateto which they are partnering.

You will pro-actively partner your business area to ensure achievement of current objectives, but also focus to the future to ensure business strategic aims are achieved.

You will take full accountability for the people agendawithin your business directorates, own the relationship, and ensure effective delivery of highly complex people practise.

In addition, the Senior HR Business Partner will lead on people initiatives across the whole of the business.

From the initial concept, through to implementation and continual development, you will ensure that the initiatives are beneficial for both colleaguesand the business.

Such initiatives will include talent management, workforce planning, engagement and performance management.

As well as being a partner to the business, the Senior HR Business Partner will work collaboratively with colleagues across the HR team and will embrace a one team ethos, continually supporting team development and challenging the status quo to ensure a consistent,value adding HR provision to leaders and colleagues.

The Person;

Experience:


  • Demonstrable extensive HR experience in a business partnering role, some of which must be at senior management level.
  • Significant experience of advising on HR policy, Employment Law and best practice.
  • Significant experience of organisational change, e.g. TUPE, restructure, redundancy.
  • Experience of planning and delivering people initiatives, including talent management, workforce planning and performance management.
  • Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level.
  • MCIPD / MA Human Resource Management / Equivalent Experience

Personal Qualities, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills to establish good working relationships with leaders, colleagues and external organisations.
  • Able to use initiative, multi task and prioritise diverse workload and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to be responsible and accountable for decision making.
