Through training, mentoring, and coaching, you will gain experience and develop the skills that will allow you to carry out technical assessments in line with Environment Agency, DEFRA, and European regulatory obligations.
You'll manage a large, varied caseload, make legally binding risk-based decisions using industry specific guidance and liaise regularly with local and national technical specialists, assessing customer's Expenditure Plans ensuring all required permit obligations are met.
You will also liaise with operators, consultants, Environment Agency colleagues in Area and the National Permitting Service (NPS) along with the Legal Team to produce the required Legal Agreements.
Other responsibilities include developing your technical and personal effectiveness skills, contributing to team performance, supporting, and coaching other team members, and supporting other teams within our changing service demands.
- The team
- Permitting is the foundation of regulation, and crucial to the economy, people and wildlife. The Financial Provision team sits within the NPS, working alongside the Waste Deposit permitting teams and Area operational teams, establishing and maintaining financial instruments ensuring operator's permit and financial obligations are met.

- Excel, MS Teams, PowerPoint
- Be passionate about the environment and have a willingness to learn about environmental regulation
- Experience in Environment Management, Legislation and the permitting process would be desirable, but not essential
