In addition, they are also the UK's leading specialist in lead engineering.Our client design, manufacture, and install radiation shielding and other products for the nuclear, defence, healthcare, construction, industrial and research markets.
As Quality Inspector you will ensure all products including incoming, internally produced and outgoing components meet the quality standards required by the customer and the organisation.
As a Lead Foundry/Heavy Engineering, the Inspectors will be expectedto cover two factories - C2 (Sheet Lead operation) Rolling Processes, Stores & Despatch, Bonding Line) and C1 (Machine Shop, Fabrications, Castings)Quality Inspector - The Rewards
- £13/hr - circa £28K p.a.
- 36 hrs/week 07:00 16:30 (Monday to Thursday)
Quality Inspector - Requirements
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering experience
- NPL Level 1/geometric tolerance (preferable)
- Knowledge of machining principles (desirable)
- Experience of successfully working within an engineering focused environment which incorporated elements o
- Operating CMM /FARO machines to measure cast components
- Inspection equipment and inprocess inspection of machined parts
- Production of Inspection Reports
- ISO9001 Awareness
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
- The use of a wide range of inspection measuring equipment, including CMM.
- Use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Articulate, confident communicator at all levels
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings
- Ability to work manual measuring equipment (micrometres, callipers, Vernier's, etc.)
- Computer literate/MS Office
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent communication skills
Quality Inspector - Responsibilities
- Identifying and raising quality issues and to ensure a prompt resolution to the customer.
- Support the management of all qualityrelated issues within the manufacturing team
- Ensure inspection disciplines adherence to the Quality Management system (QMS) and are effective for the business
- Carry out 1st off/ Last off inspections as deemed necessary
- Monitor/ Patrol (Physical/First hand) in process inspections
- Stop production in the event of manufacture of unacceptable goods/processes
- Support completion of all documentation for First Article Inspection Reports.
- Ensuring all documentation is up to date and accurate
- Conduct product and process audits
- Ensuring that all quality and in process checks are conducted as planned
- Ensuring control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained
- Conduct Faro Arm / CMM measurements
- Perform regular quality checks of components using manual, electronic measuring instruments (micrometres, callipers, Vernier's, etc.)
- Liaise and effectively communicate with internal and external colleagues to resolve quality issues
