A fantastic opportunity has arisen to be involved in the continued development and delivery of a specialist birth trauma and perinatal loss service.

The Lotus Maternal Therapeutic Outreach Service launched in June 2021 as a pilot site chosen to develop and trial a Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.

The team includes Clinical Psychologists, Peer Support Workers and Specialist Midwives and offers specialist assessment and psychological interventions to women and birthing people who have experienced mental health difficulties relating to their birth experience, including Birth Trauma, fear of childbirth (Tokophobia), baby loss and separation from their baby due to Children's Services involvement.

Main duties of the job


The Lotus service covers the whole of Norfolk and Waveney area and works alongside the Norfolk mother and baby unit, maternity colleagues both in the community and those based in hospital, Children's Services and local community organisations.


The post holder will also receive further relevant training specific to the role and will be expected to offer clinical supervision to other members of our multi-disciplinary team.


We also have strong links with the UEA Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programme and as such, there will be opportunities to supervise Trainee Clinical Psychologists whilst on placement within the team.
