The ExtraCare Charitable Trust are recruiting for a full-time Head Chef to lead the team at Solihull Retirement Village, based in Shirley.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our hospitality team as a Head Chef. If you have experience in diverse hospitality settings and can inspire and lead a team, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Lifestyle Manager to lead and manage the catering and hospitality team at Solihull Retirement Village, exceeding expectations on customer service, financial performance, and service quality.
• Delivering and managing food and beverage services across the Village, including bar and events.
• Developing the strategy for the hospitality service with the Village Manager, contributing to the Village income strategy.
• Recruiting and building a motivated and qualified team of hospitality staff.
• Contributing to resident support, working with other Village teams: Care, Wellbeing and Dementia Support.
• Promoting quality and value for money control procedures for procurement and stock management.
• Engaging with residents on menu planning, pricing, and service provision.
• Monitoring customer requirements and addressing complaints and comments proactively.
• Demonstrating a safe and compliant service within the legal frameworks of Health and Safety, Food Handling, and Hygiene.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to inspire and lead a team.
• Empathy and understanding of our residents' needs and dietary requirements.
• Experience across diverse hospitality settings.
• Menu planning and budgetary experience.
• Team player.
• Passionate and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills.
