Job Purpose:


An office-based role focused on assisting Policyholders with building-related queries pertaining to their insurance claims, while ensuring efficient progression and resolution.

The role also involves providing technical support to the Claims Team to enhance their understanding and expertise. Key responsibilities include advancing and finalizing Buildings insurance claims, updating reserves, offering settlements, engaging contractors, and managing claim closures.

The Desktop Surveyor is entrusted with delivering clear and concise decisions to Policyholders and maintaining exceptional customer service standards in all communications with Policyholders and Suppliers.


Key Accountabilities:
Reviewing non-delegated Surveyor reports and communicating claim decisions to Policyholders.
Assessing Policyholder Scope disputes, making necessary adjustments, and conveying decisions to Policyholders.
Reviewing decline disputes to ensure policy terms adherence and communicating outcomes to Policyholders.
Validating contractors' scope estimates in line with estimating software and policy conditions.
Advancing and updating Buildings Insurance claims, including reserve updates, cash settlements, contractor instructions, and claim closures.
Providing technical support to the claims team regarding buildings damage.
Liaising with Policyholders and suppliers via the portal and phone.

Assisting in the audit and oversight of the Surveyor Network and Contractors with support from the Regional Technical Surveyor and Supply Chain Manager.

Undertaking individual or team tasks aligning with company values.
Ensuring timely progression and swift completion of claims.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:
Secondary education with a minimum of 5 GCSE passes, including Maths and English.

Experience & Knowledge:
At least 2 years of experience in the building industry.

Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Tact and assertiveness in dealings with Suppliers/Surveyor Network.
Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficient in PC usage with good administrative skills.
Willingness to take on increased ownership and responsibility as needed.
