The Priory Retirement Village based in Abbotskerswell is on the lookout for an Administrator and also a Senior Administrator to join our RVG family.

Working 22.5 hours a week, including alternate Saturdays.


You will be responsible for secretarial, clerical, systems and administrative support to the Village leadership team, including diary and event support and Payroll processing.

This role includes welcoming village residents and visitors in person or by telephone, directing enquiries effectively whilst upholding safety and security standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Hospitality Excellence
  • Acting as the face of the village, providing a professional and warm reception service to Village residents and visitors, greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately and notifying village colleagues of their visitors' arrival
  • Maintains telephone system and building security protocols and standards;
  • Maintains site directory information; guest suite and event space bookings and equipment calendars; meeting room and car parking reservations, where applicable.
  • Keeps a clean and safe and reception area; identities and escalates any safety or other issues promptly, responding appropriately until these are addressed
  • Supports the General Manager to complete all Payroll processes accurately and on time; maintains confidentiality, treating all Payroll information as sensitive
  • Records payroll queries and issues, so they can be prioritised, analysed, addressed and reported effectively
  • Leads the development of Hospitality, Food and Beverage and retail service offering; develops, trains and upholds service standards
  • Supports the Wellbeing Team to provide a comprehensive programme of events that engage and excite residents, optimising revenue through external sales and memberships.
  • Understands, upholds and contributes to creating a safetyfirst culture within RVG. Ensures a safe, compliant and healthy environment for residents, colleagues and the wider community
  • Drives effective use of hospitality systems and processes to maximise, track and manage income; manages core costs and reduces waste to improve overall profitability of village food, beverage and retail services
  • Plans and prioritises work to meet commitments aligned with RVG goals
  • Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Develops and delivers communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Builds strong Resident and customer relationships and delivers customercentric solutions
