Assistant Residential Worker

I am recruiting for a small residential home for children and young people aged between who have various learning disabilities.

you will help create a homely and supportive environment where the children can thrive and develop by us supporting them withhousehold tasks and all aspects of their care.

There main focus on making sure the children's voices are heard at all times and pride ourselves on providing a collaborative and caring service.

We work hard to ensure the children and young people in our care are experiencing a safe and happy childhood in a friendly, warm and inclusive environment.

We want people who will help our team continue to ensure the best possible environment.

We are lookingfor someone who has a compassionate and positive attitude, is adaptable to changing situations and has excellent communication skills.

If you have experience in a similar setting with disabled children and young people, this would be advantageous.
Job Role.

Work as a team and individually to provide a flexible responsive, high quality and person centred care to children young people and their families based on an assessment of need and to access to a range of stimulating and safe activities and experiences withinand external to the home.

Build and maintain professional working relationships with children young people and their families by providing emotional, social and practical support to young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties.

Establish relationships and links within the community to assist the child, young person and their family.

Support children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and clinical procedures in line with organisational policies and procedures.

Undertake routine household tasks e.g.

cooking washing shopping and/or supporting young people to undertake these tasks to enable the smooth running of the home and to promote independence.

Record observations and maintain up to date files (paper and electronic), utilising agreed systems and procedures; undertake administrative processes as necessary to maintain systems, procedures and office practices.

Essential personal requirements.
Must possess Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent within two years of taking up post.
Willingness to participate in relevant on the job or off site training.
Writing notes and recording information.
Ability to communicate effectively.
