Our client is currently looking for a Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager to join their busy team in Bristol, BS2.


The Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager will be supporting production to maintain existing equipment as part of a preventive maintenance schedule and on an ad hoc basis as required.

The Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager will take responsibilityfor Maintenance Technicians both mechanical and electrical and coordinate their workload to ensure the preventative maintenance program is being delivered.

You will be looking for opportunities to improve existing equipment or areas that need new equipmentand developing designs and specifications to fill the identified gaps.

The Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager will be able to fault find and repair electronic/electrical systems, installations, and infrastructure within the company with a focus on reducingthe amount of external contractors they are reliant on to support ongoing production.

The Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager will be involved in New Product Introduction.

They will work with R & D, Quality, Production and other members of the Production Engineering team to define the production processes and testing requirements forthe new product lines.

They will be involved in design for manufacture reviews, failure mode effect analysis meetings and liaison with suppliers to ensure production will have everything they need to deliver the highest quality product.

We will be lookingfor the Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager, to be aware of emerging technologies and industry best practices and look to include them in the new product introductions.

Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager Duties:

  • Identify and track all production equipment
  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are in place and being carried out on production equipment.
  • Advise and implement, new & upgrading of existing equipment to electronic industrial controls
  • Aid the introduction of new processes and equipment
  • Support all departments on the use, introduction and implementation of electronics.
  • Install electrical requirements of the company, including general maintenance and upkeep of production equipment
  • Keep up to date with new advances in electronics/electrics
  • Supervise junior maintenance engineers/technicians
  • Control and administration of all maintenance spare parts
  • Programming and setup of PLC controls
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of facilities requiring electrical/electronics knowledge

Senior Maintenance and Facilities Manager Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with preventative maintenance work
  • Experience in working with panel wiring
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing equipment used for an injection moulding process
  • Knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Minimum Level 3 C&G/BTEC in an electrical/electronic engineering discipline or relevant apprenticeship
  • Methodical thinking and ability to manage own workload
  • Good communicator, verbally and in writing
  • Problemsolving skills
  • Train and mentor junior team members
  • Experience of Samsung PLC's and the use of C++ and ladder logic for programming would be beneficial
  • Able to make use of manual workshop machinery e.g. lathes and turret milling machines, cutting saws, pillar drills etc. would be beneficial
