Adults Services - Business Support Department is looking to recruit a fixed term Finance Officer (Visiting Officer) to join the Community Benefits Team (CBT) to provide a high quality professional and efficient service to its many internal and external customers.


The role of the Finance Officer (Visiting Officer) is to undertake casework including a visiting service for customers in receipt of Home Care Services or in Residential Care Establishments.

The Finance Officer will gather financial information to complete a Financial Circumstances Form (FCF) to support the Care Charging Policy and process as well as carry out welfare benefits checks.

The Officer will work closely with colleagues within Adult's Finance, including the Financial Assessment Team and the Debt Recovery Team.


The Finance Officer will ensure the efficient and effective use of resources to deliver maximum benefits for Customers and Ealing Council and maintain effective day to day liaison with Adults Social Worker Locality Teams, statutory and external agencies, clients and their representatives.


This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role.

This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 201- Operating IT systems to manage customer caseloads to deliver the service.


  • Experience of working in a team and using own initiative to undertake day to day tasks in line with the team's and organisation's policies and procedures.
  • Working in a face to face capacity with vulnerable members of the public.
  • Representing client's interests in respect of negotiations undertaken on their behalf in the capacity of an advisor and/or advocate.
