The role:
We are looking to recruit a Trainee Claims Adjuster to kick start their career in insurance, to proactively handle and adjust Commercial Property Insurance claims from first notification to settlement working within the Canopius claims team in London

Responsibilities:

To provide administrative support to the property claims manager and the wider short tail claims team
To develop a thorough understanding of the property claims portfolio.
To gain a thorough understanding of the Property Insurance policy coverages and clauses

As your knowledge increases you will:

Proactively adjust claims within a set authority level and in accordance with the Canopius claims vision and obligations; ensuring and delivering excellent service to all our customers
Ensure that sufficient financial provisions, in accordance with the Canopius reserving philosophy, are held for all claims within your portfolio
Develop and maintain close and collaborative working relationships with the claims team, divisional underwriters, actuaries and other internal stakeholders
Ensure delegated claims are managed in accordance with Canopius claims values; ensuring effective oversight of third party service providers via regular reporting on key performance indicators, peer reviews, file reviews and generally sharing of best practice
Instruct and proactively oversee lawyers, loss adjusters and experts from the Canopius panel of experts and other external stakeholders where necessary

Skills and Experience:

No previous experience is necessary although entry level experience is preferred
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken including networking
A good standard of exam results in GCSE and A-Level
Well versed in technology
A good understanding of Microsoft Office suite
A track record of building solid relationships
