Permanent position

The Company:

The flexibility, technical expertise and integration of JFN multi-disciplined design teams is the basis of many effective and valuable long-term relationships with major companies within the nuclear industry.

The Role:

The EHS Advisor will be responsible for all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) for the SGHWR Nuclear Decommissioning Project at Winfrith, Dorset.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
To ensure the project is working in compliance with all JF Nuclear EHS IMS policies, procedures and work instructions.

The EHS Advisor to have full knowledge of the project strategy and installation model and be competent with all aspects of industrial health and safety with particular focus on occupational health.

Ensure the project complies with key legislation and guidance and be aware of any new or changes to existing legislation, approved codes of practice and industry guidance.

The scope of work will be considered complete upon agreement with the Site Manager upon sign off of the appropriate project quality plans.

Following each monthly project update, the JFN Schedule of Works Variance Form will be used to verify monthly submissions before payment will be authorised.

In addition:

Ensuring JFN's strict Health and Safety standards are met
Reviewing of Method Statements and Risk Assessments & commenting where necessary
Reviewing and ensuring work areas are safe and all documentation is in place ahead of work commencing
Carrying out site safety walks and recording findings
Assist the Health & Safety Manager to implement and develop policies and procedures
Undertake accident and incident investigations
Train staff as required
Provide professional Health & Safety advice to colleagues and others on site
Maintain accurate records, documents and databases
Work closely with JFN Area Construction Management and attend team meetings.
Liaise and carry out safety walks with the client and their safety advisors
Ensure all works are being carried out within CDM regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:
NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a EHS advisor role.
IOSH Managing Safely.
Experience working under ISO9001.
Full UK driving license.

The Person:

Previous safety advisor experience a must and a working knowledge of industry safe working practices along with being able to demonstrate an understanding of such.

Be able to pass a basic DBS check for site security.

This role is to be based in Winfrith, Dorset so would suit someone from the area or someone who is able to commute to site daily.
