The Senior Learning Designer is a pivotal role, responsible for designing, developing, delivering and evaluating the student learning experience across online programmes at the Business School.

You will therefore need to have strong knowledge of both learning design and product development, to ensure we remain at the forefront of technology-enhanced education.

Duties and responsibilities:


  • Act learning designer, oversee and coordinate the planning, design and development of highquality online programmes
  • Work closely with senior academic colleagues, providing pedagogical consultancy and defining and developing the most appropriate and effective learning solutions for the audience
  • Contribute to a continuous programme of R&D to evaluate the success and effectiveness of modules across the Business School
  • Actively participate in programme reviews and use evaluation exercises to implement changes to programmes/modules and improve delivery to students
  • Support the rollover and delivery of existing modules to ensure that modules are delivered in line with the Lab's pedagogical approach
  • Contribute to ongoing research projects within the Edtech Lab and lead on areas of technological innovation in teaching, e.g. VR, hologram etc.

Essential requirements:


  • Educated to postgraduate degree level (or equivalent), preferably in the fields of education, publishing or teaching
  • Proven experience of developing highquality fullyonline programmes in a Business School
  • Expertise relating to pedagogical theory and lesson/curriculum planning
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence and lead peers, faculty and external partners
  • A track record of excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence and lead peers, faculty and external partners
  • Strong professional skills in the project management of complex projects relating to online and blended learning
  • Meticulous eye for detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of digital transformation, pedagogical thought and the wider processes and constraints around online and blended teaching.
