Job Description:


What's the role?

Shift: 4 on 4 off Nights 18:00 - 06:00


Salary:
£31,338 + £2,000 night allowance

Warrens are looking for an experienced Transport professional to supervisor the operation based at our central Rugby hub. This role will oversee the transport plans, meet customer demand and supervise transport planners to achieve SLA's.


Main Responsibilities & Objectives:


  • Effectively manage and plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times and client SLA's
  • Liaising with the shunting operation covering pre loading and unloading operation
  • Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments
  • Optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers' hours legislation
  • Using the Driver rota, planning runs according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness
  • Controlling equipment through sign in/sign out procedure
  • Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT's, etc.
  • Investigate all incidents of fleet damage, RTI's, HPNM's and escalate to line managers for further support, ensuring all relevant company systems (EOA) are appropriately updated and 3rd party networks (insurers) are correctly notified as per procedures
  • Carrying out disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, substance misuse procedure, etc. in order to maintain standards and ensure that employees work at an appropriate level
  • Ensuring any risk assessments at the depot are organised and carried out accordingly
  • Ensuring all accidents/incidents/near misses are logged and reported in line with company procedures
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc.
  • Increasing staff retention and maintaining good morale, reporting any driver's issues or concerns to management. In turn, communicating any operational
  • Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, adhering to all health & safety/ safe systems of work
  • Pre Brief and Debrief of all drivers ensuring company standards are maintained and adhered to
  • Communicating any potential failures or changes to the original plan
  • Controlling agency requirements on a daily basis

Qualifications:


What are we looking for?

  • Significant knowledge & experience of tachograph/ driving rules and regulations
  • CPC National desirable but not essential
  • Previous management/ supervisory experience
  • Planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy
  • Negotiating skills, ability to influence and steer
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours
  • Significant transport experience in FMCG environment
