Summary
The key aim of the role is to lead the Methods team to optimize the assembly and manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods, designing, and implementing improvements.
Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:
Lead the Methods Team in line with given targets, objectives and goals.
Be the interface with the engineering team for cost effective introduction of new product for overhaul or manufacture on the shop floor (where, how, with what, how long, training periods etc.).
Incorporate safety by process and tooling design
Lead improvement projects and give presentations to managers and staff.
Read, interpret, and evaluate drawings, models and designs for assembly and manufacture.
Support Production with the investigation of complex production problems, analysis and recommend corrective solutions or improvements to ensure proper production flow.
Design tools, fixtures, test rigs and jigs.
Review new technologies to improve capacity/quality.
Review packaging design and specifications.
Create & maintain BOM routings.
Maintain ERP data accuracy.
Measure and analyse standard times, recommending and implementing improvements.
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
Input into the ECO process.
Participate in the design of workplace and cell layouts to promote efficient overhaul and manufacturing process flow, analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment location using manufacturing system design tools and methodology.
Support warranty investigations.
Ensure all equipment purchased and commissioned meets specific and corporate specification and can function within required tolerances and capacity.
Develop and maintain FMEA's, Control plans.
Support quality and manufacturing functions in problem resolution and 8D process.
Support maintenance department in technical problem resolution.
Managing and reporting of KPI in line with company strategy.
Managing and mentoring of the team. Including performance reviews and task completion.
Undertake a variety of other activities as instructed, that are within a Methods Engineer's capabilities.

- Worked within a safety critical environment
- Worked within an MRO environment
- Experience of standard time measurement
- Experience of product introduction
Qualifications/Education required:
- HNC engineering qualification required or equivalent
- Good understanding or mathematics
- CAD Qualification or equivalent
