About Hinkley Point C


The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.


Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions.

The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.


What you'll be doing
As a
Service Lead, you will have the following responsibilities,

  • Identification & develop services required for contractor mobilisation to site & through scope for enabling services; including Temporary power, lighting, HVAC/LEV, access, lifting & logístical support.
  • To analyse allowable & disallowable services as per Tier 1 contract documentation.
  • To be instrumental & drive the scope capture & costing exercises.
  • To ensure an appropriate level of programme risk is well communicated in the planning (cost model including well defined scope inclusions & exclusions) and delivery schedules.
  • Sound understanding of Temporary Works & Permit to Work procedures in construction.
  • Assignment of work packages to the Site Wide Team.
  • Monitoring project progress and adjusting as necessary to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • To adhere to Project Governance, Client standards and wider procedures.
  • Oversee the design & installation of enabling services.
  • Production of build schedule & adherence to schedule, providing data on forecast/planned & actuals.

Who we're looking for
Do you have?

  • Degree qualified in a technical or construction related discipline, or, demonstrable relatable experience.
  • Experience in a construction/project engineeringbased environment.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft office including good level of understanding in Excel.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH (desirable)
  • SSSTS/SMSTS (desirable)
  • Ability to achieve a highlevel security clearance.
  • Nuclear and Major Project experience would be a benefit.
