We are looking for a hands-on person who has strong communication, administration and good IT skills, flexibility, a dedication to customer service and who values providing a service both individually and as part of a team.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description:
- We are looking for an individual to assist the Physical Training Instructor with the coordination and safe delivery of physical development activities for personnel within Woolwich Garrison, Regents Park Barracks and Territorial House and to assist with the daily management of the gymnasium facilities at these locations
Person specification:
- Remain current with all Physical Development (PD) Policies in order to ensure compliance.
- Routinely manage the facilities and bookings.
- Deputise for the Royal Army Physical Training Corp Instructor (RAPTCI) in their absence.
- Conduct gym inductions.
- Assist Unit Fitness Training Officer and qualified Physical Training (PT) Instructors with the design of PT programmes to meet set goals.
- Conduct safe physical testing and training for all units and subunits, to include all components of fitness (strength, endurance, mobility) as detailed in the Army Physical Training System.
- Deliver and manage sports programme.
- Monitor and assure unit and subunit lessons and instructors / leaders.
- Promote health and assist with delivery of the Health Fair.
- Complete annual deficit training, essential reading, and continual professional development
- Site visits/support to other Units
- Additional tasks as directed by the line manager.
Essential:
Level 3 Personal Training Qualification (or equivalent).
Desirable Degree within:
- Sports Science
- Strength and Conditioning
- Nutrition
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Personal Training Qualification or higher (or equivalent)

Technical skills:
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
