Smart Recruit Group are looking for Learning Disability Support Workers who are looking for a new and exciting permanent role with our Client based in the Durham Area.
Our client is a leading care provider to adults with Learning Difficulties and Challenging Behaviour.Do you have a desire to support adults with additional needs?
Are you experienced in working with complex challenging behaviour?
- Experience working with Learning Disability in a supported living setting or in a home care setting
- Good organisational and management skills
- Understanding of complex needs
- Experience in moving and handling
- Understanding of Challenging Behaviour and experience of Restraint or Breakaway

Duties:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assisting with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
- Helping individuals participate in community activities and social events
- Supporting individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills
- Document and report any changes in behaviour or health status to the appropriate person
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and empathy when working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of individuals
