Smart Recruit Group are looking for Learning Disability Support Workers who are looking for a new and exciting permanent role with our Client based in the Durham Area.

Our client is a leading care provider to adults with Learning Difficulties and Challenging Behaviour.

Do you have a desire to support adults with additional needs?

Are you experienced in working with complex challenging behaviour?

  • Experience working with Learning Disability in a supported living setting or in a home care setting
  • Good organisational and management skills
  • Understanding of complex needs
  • Experience in moving and handling
  • Understanding of Challenging Behaviour and experience of Restraint or Breakaway
Those interested in the role will also need to have a DBS on the update service - or be wiling to pay for DBS

Duties:


  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs
  • Assisting with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
  • Helping individuals participate in community activities and social events
  • Supporting individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills
  • Document and report any changes in behaviour or health status to the appropriate person
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and empathy when working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to think on your feet
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of individuals

Salary:
£13.00 per hour
