Summary
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Senior Phlebotomist to join our Phlebotomy team at Onewelbeck. If you are a committed, motivated, reliable, and highly experienced phlebotomist who enjoys working in a busy, diverse department this may be the job for you


Main Duties/Key Tasks:


  • Manage the rotas to ensure that there is adequate staff cover at all times.
  • Deal with more complex enquiries from patients and receive complaints in accordance with the company's complaints procedure.
  • Ensure an effective and efficient administrative service to both patients and visitors
To liaise with consultants, secretaries, radiographers and patient administration staff regarding patient information and appointment scheduling

  • Ensure practice policies are followed and accurate records are kept, with particular reference to: appointments, messages, visits, post, patient registration, filing systems
  • Liaise with Pathology Coordinator concerning staffing and organisation of work
  • Have a working knowledge of all software and hardware, dealing with IT problems on site as needed in the absence of the Pathology Coordinator
  • Continually assess and evaluate systems, recommending changes and improvements to the Pathology Coordinator as appropriate
  • Overseeing the team performance and regular 1:1's

Clinical Responsibilities

  • To be fully competent in all aspects of venepuncture as according to our policy
  • To have full working knowledge of all tests provided currently and their associated collection tube/methods.
  • To adhere to the phlebotomy standard operating procedures and phlebotomy duties as laid out in Phlebotomy Operational Guidelines

Profile
Education and experience

  • Experience in a private healthcare environment (essential)
  • Higher education (A Levels) (desirable)
  • Experience in a highquality customer facing role, 5star hospitality experience ideal
  • Experience utilising MS Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information (essential)

Job Types:

From £27,000.00 per year
