Salary:
£30K - £50K (based on experience)
Location: 2 sites - Pembrokeshire and Newport
Hunter Mason is recruiting on behalf of a well-respected name in the civil engineering and construction markets to both Public and Private sector customers.
They provide their customers with a unique construction service, through the constructive collaboration between our Building and Civil Engineering departments.
Construction planner responsibilities:
As a planner you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are kept on track by producing reports and using project management tools to keep all other teams involved in the project on track.
Construction planners are responsible for carrying out a huge number of project planning and management responsibilities both on and off the construction site.
They work with colleagues in construction, engineering and design to ensure that large and complex construction projects go to plan.
Some of the typical responsibilities of a construction planner include:- Planning and scheduling, including determining how to get a project built as efficiently as possible.
- Estimating the costs of materials, labour and equipment for a project
- Quality control and quality assurance including regular site inspections.
- Coordinating the creation of documents including sketches and drafts
- Monitoring the project budget and spending
- Coordinating with other team members including engineers and architects
- Managing staff members and work schedules
- Overseeing coordination and transportation of materials
- Communicating with clients and colleagues
- Carrying out risk assessments to ensure safety on site.
- Creating, maintaining, and reviewing a programme of work
- Ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Consulting with surveyors, engineers, and architects
- Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Breaking large jobs down into phases of development
- Using project management tools to plan times.
- Collaborating with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project.
- Planning contingency programmes in case times change
- Meeting with contractors and suppliers
- Demonstrating knowledge of construction
- Writing bids for tender
- Managing several projects with the support of junior planners
- Working between offices and construction sites.

Salary:
£30,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
