Hours:
Full Time/Part Time Positions available.


Salary:
£13 per hour


Holidays: 33 days per year (pro rata)

(Full driving licence and vehicle required for this role)

The refer a friend scheme is worth £200 in total. This is split £100 after the person has worked 100 hours and then another £100 when they have passed probation (6 months usually).

The Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity to work with an amazing individual in the Haverfordwest area.


This is a unique opportunity to support a young gentleman in his own home, this young man requires support 24/7 and also requires support from two people through the daytime, with the night been a sleepover.

By way of an overview of the person who you would be supporting

  • J enjoys being out in the community as he is a very sociable young man and he likes going for walks, spending time with his family and is dog, J also likes going out for food, baking, cooking meals, food shopping, swimming, bowling and bike mobility.


J is very open-minded and will try new things however he does find it hard to remain concentrated on a task for more than 20/30 minutes.


J has tried horse-riding which he enjoys, even though he was initially scared about getting on the horse at first.


With the proposed support, J thinks he would like to try and do his weekly shopping/meal planning and this will build on his independent living skills.

In respect of hobbies and interests, J really loves animals and would like to be supported to do this more often

J would love to independent in managing his finances.

J likes sensory play such as with slime, foam, gym ball, bubble machines and hand massages.

J likes having a structured day and consistent routine.

J likes swimming, walking and carrying heavy objects which are all activities that help with his sensory input.

J likes to have 12 hours or more sleep.


J is a very engaging character and this is truly a great opportunity to support a young man and to develop his life skills and make a real difference to his life.


In regards to communication - J will usually tell people what they want to hear when they are talking to him therefore it is very important that people make sure I have fully understood what has been said either by rewording, asking him to paraphrase it back or by using child-friendly language.

J also likes looking at pictures, symbols, now and next cards, using Makaton, people being patient with J is important


It is important to outline that this a young man has a health condition, and requires support with this, which also includes personal care and assistance with certain tasks.

J has a number of health needs, and some of these are the basis that J needs the support on an ongoing basis, this could on occasions mean that J has small episodes of challenging behaviour
