:Located in the heart of Bristol's Old City, the hotel is right by the waterside, within easy walking distance of the prime cultural, business and shopping districts.

This boutique style hotel includes 116 uniquely designed guest rooms. Not to be missed, is Buttermilk and Maple which offers relaxed, dining alongside aromatic coffee, craft beers and eclectic cocktails

There are also four versatile and modern function rooms each boasting panoramic, unobstructed views of the river. These can accommodate up to 85 delegates for meetings and 100 for receptions and social gatherings. Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel is also licensed to hold Civil Marriage and Partnership Ceremonies and help from the hotel's dedicated Wedding Planner is available


A Guest Service Supervisor (GSS), must oversee the running of a shift and ensure that the Guest Services Assistants are managing their task lists accordingly.

A GSS will be responsible for supporting their line manager within the departments of food and beverage, housekeeping and reception; being flexible within their role supporting any department in line with business demands.

Role in our Family:

As a Guest Service Supervisor, key to your role is:

  • To provide a safe environment for Splendid Family Members and guests
  • To monitor shift procedures, ensuring checklists are completed in the correct manner
  • To supervise the multiple departments, working operational shifts as required
  • To comply with the company policies regarding Fire, Health & Safety, Food hygiene and Security
  • To support your line manager in training and development of team members
  • To support other team members when dealing with guest complaints
  • To complete Hotel banking and petty cash controls as needed.
  • To ensure that rooms are cleaned to the SHG and Brand standards required, and turned around in an efficient manner
  • To be proactive in generating sales and referring sales leads as well as upselling products and services where possible
  • To carry out the responsibilities of a Guest Services Assistant when required
