Description

Vascular surgery unit at the Royal free hospital is a popular unit among trainees with ample opportunities to train with a good mix of enthusiastic consultants performing both open and endovascular procedures.

The department boasts of a friendly atmosphere to learn as you work.

The unit provides specialist service for patients with peripheral arterial disease, Aortic and other peripheral aneurysms, venous disease including varicose veins and complex venous thrombotic disorders, diabetic foot care, Visceral arterial disease, carotid arterial disease.


We are looking for a senior house officer in vascular surgery who will work at the level of a FY2 / ST1 and function as a teaching fellow.

This post is partly funded for teaching activities in the department of vascular surgery.

The appointee may also take part in vascular elective activities of the department, namely, care of in-patients, assisting in theatre, outpatient clinics and MDT meetings.

He / She will also provide teaching to the undergraduate students on a regular basis which will be included in the weekly activities.

The average working hours will be 40 hours a week.
