Description

A position has arisen for a Financial Accountant to work for a leading College in west London. This establishment has an ethos of success and commitment to exceptional delivery of service for internal and external stakeholders. Therefore, the successfulpostholder will be joining their Finance team to contribute to and aid this.

Job responsibilities include:

Supervision of month end processes to meet the College timetable of achieving month end closure within five days of the month end
Prepare the College's monthly management accounts and forecasts (including Income & Expenditure, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements) and analysis of KPIs in accordance with the timetable
To undertake yearend processes to support the Head of Finance in preparation for the annual financial statements and reports
Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
Assist Head of Finance in preparation of the College's annual budgets and returns to Funding bodies
Maintain all payroll related financial records and reconciliations
Ensure that the College's Fixed Asset register is up to date and calculate the depreciation charge for the month and year.
Submit monthly, quarterly and annual Office for National Statistics returns as required
An ACCA, CIMA or CCAB finalist or newly qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years' accounting experience in a busy finance office environment
Experience in the preparation of statutory financial statements
Experience of computerised accounting systems and use of Excel software in a medium or large sized organisation
Experience of working through month end and year end journals and processes
